‘3D’ GPS units have been around for a while, although all they do is provide a rotatable 2D image, until now. From the people who brought you the karaoke sat-nav comes the iNAVI K2, with an 800 x 480 4.8″ screen, 8Gb memory and 256Mb RAM.
Korean company Thinkware have pushed the boundaries by providing a true 3D navigation system, providing realistic representations of the buildings on the map so you can finally see an accurate representation of the roads you will be travelling down, also including detailed lane information for those nightmare junctions. Also in the mix is a media player, MP3 playback, Camera and a geo-magnetic sensor which allows detection of the orientation of the device even while stationary.
All it needs now is to have a phone crammed in as well and i’m sold. Except it wont be appearing in the UK/US anytime soon, but its a good idea of things to come.
