Just two weeks into 2009 and the computer gaming industry is in the firing line from US politicians who want games to come with health warnings. So what is the warning they want displayed? Well here it is.
“WARNING: Excessive exposure to violent video games and other violent media has been linked to aggressive behaviour.”
Apparently the gaming industry is failing to protect the general public and it has a responsibility to all parents, families and consumers. Research shows that there is a link between playing violent games and an increase in aggression in young people.
So if this was to be implemented, would it make it across to other areas of the world and would it really help parents and consumers?
