We have a lot of precious data that can change daily. Copying it onto a USB stick can be hit or miss sometimes and you may miss some of the important files. The backup solutions that are around are ideal and provide professional software to make sure you backup everything safely. But there is one drawback. They are not portable. If you have a laptop or a netbook that you take with you everywhere your files are vulnerable until you get home to back them up. Corsair has now announced a solution to this with their new USB gadget called the Voyager Port.
This is a USB port that you can plug any size USB stick into to provide the backup storage. It is completely powered by the netbooks USB port and is “plug and play”. In just a simple button push you can have all of your important files backed up immediately. The device comes with a copy of NovaBACKUP 10 recovery and backup software making the whole package a complete backup solution for your files.
It is designed to be taken with you anywhere you go and with this in mind Corsair have made it shock and water resistant. There is no word on cost and availability at the moment, but if the price is not too high this could be a useful addition for your very portable netbook.
