Elonex have released the UK’s first ever sub-£100 laptop, aimed at the school kids across the nation. Running on a Linux OS it appears that children may start to become more computer savvy than ever before. The setup includes a 7-inch screen, wireless access to internet & email and a 1Gb flash disk drive. Obviously it can’t run the latest and greatest games, but will allow children in under-privelidged areas to be able to keep up with their wealthier peers by being able to research and communicate via the internet. Plus its a good promotion of the Linux OS, which might turn out to be a big thorn in Microsoft’s side.
