Sony have stepped up to the plate once more for all you hardcore movie fans with there new home cinema projection system.
The Sony VPL - VW80 is a new top of the range high definition projector with some very impressive credentials designed to squeeze every last bit of picture quality. It uses technology called SXRD ( Silicon X-tal reflective display) panel technology capable of 1080p pictures and a refresh rate double that of the normal standard for those all important action scenes.
The systems is very economic with the light to help with with contrast pushing its capabilities to 60,000:1, through into the equation the advanced Iris 2 feature which will analysis each frame in real time to adjust the aperture dynamically for each scene. This allows the viewer to see all the details in the dark scenes while there will be no washout in the white scenes.
The price is still to be arranged so don’t hold your breath for a bargain.
