Nokia have now released their N-Gage platform with the official announcement coming on monday. Available at their website here and currently catering for the N81, N82 and N95 phones the platform is also going to be developed for the N73, N93 and N93i. The service provided by Nokia also allows for multiplayer gaming with an Xbox-Live esque friends list and even includes a ‘gamerscore’ and ability to chat with fellow gamers.
Currently the games line-up is fairly limited with only 5 games available, although there are another 14 in the pipeline including Fifa ‘08, Pro Series Golf, Midnight Pool, Worms World Party and the handheld classic Tetris.
Overall it looks like Nokia could actually have an interesting system on their hands as mobile-phone technology has increased in leaps and bounds since their first foray into the mobile gaming market with the ill-fated N-Gage phone.
