I’m not a bird watcher myself, but I can imagine that you have to carry a lot of equipment around with you. The same for train and plane watchers. And probably the most awkward will be your camera and binoculars. Great big gadgets hanging round your neck, not exactly leaving you very mobile. And for those amateurs just starting out, it must be quite daunting seeing the prices of those said gadgets. But to help them and those wanting to cut down on their equipment there is help at hand in the form of the Mr I-Spy Digital Camera Binoculars.
This combines your most useful gadgets while hunting down that rarer spotted blue nose, turtle necked, two-winged, feathery bird thing. The camera sits in the centre of the binoculars giving you easy access to take pictures once you have spotted your subject. It is a 1.3 MP camera that can take HI mode pictures at 1280 x 1024 pixels and in LO mode it will give you 640 x 480 pixel pictures.
You get 16 MB of on-board storage that will hold between 40 and 50 images in HI mode and 100 to 150 in LO mode. As well as pictures, you can capture motion with this camera, but only without sound. Not that birds make that much sound unless it’s 4 o’clock in the morning.
To power this device you will need 2 x AAA batteries and you can get it for around £30.
