Ever heard of OLED technology? Well Sony have and have developed an all new type of LCD TV.
The TV uses an organic LED that does not need a back light. The result is a 3mm thick TV. This has had a dramtic effect on the ultimate size of the TV which is currently maxed out at 11 inches in size. The OLED TV does not have a confirmed UK price tag but it is estimated that it will be around £1500. Remember this is the price for an 11 inch screen.
It will interesting to see what the picture quality is like and whether it can compete with the normal LCD television, watch this space for your update.
