The New Apple iPhone Remote Control

According to MacRumors.com, Apple is developing software to allow people to control iTunes via their iPod Touch or iPhone remotely.
In the iTunes 7.7 pre-release earlier this week you can read a description of the application.

Reportedly, the application is assumed to allow users to play their iTunes audio via Wi-Fi.

From the “Read Me” area of the iTumes installer, the following details are listed:

“Use iTunes 7.7 to sync music, video, and more with iPhone 3G, and download applications from the iTunes Store exclusively designed for iPhone and iPod touch with software version 2.0 or later. Also use the new Remote application for iPhone or iPod touch to control iTunes playback from anywhere in your home–a free download from the App Store.”

An application like this would really add some momentum to the new iPhone software development kit in March 2009.
