The SunView portable media player is the first commercially available ‘pico-projector’ available in the world. Pico-projectors are the next big thing for mobile devices, capable of beaming a display onto areas much larger than a standard mobile lcd display. Currently the SunView, developed by Sunlink International and iView, comes with a 3.5″ lcd display and is able to beam a 53″ 640×480 image onto any suitable surface.
The SunView runs using Windows CE 5.0 and comes with Office Viewer, meaning it can display your Powerpoint presentations, Videos or pretty much everything else.
No pricing as of yet but expect many more pico-projectors to appear over the next year, Texas Instruments are already on their 2nd generation of projectors for mobile-phone devices and are in talks with various manufacturers.
